This kind of freight is particularly useful for goods and objects that are:

- Oddly shaped
It should be noted that, when a shipment is classified as oversize, the whole process needs to be adequately planned and the entire transportation needs to be assigned a specific vehicle. You are also required to obtain specific authorizations.

Road transport of oversize goods
Exceptional road transport is certainly the most common but also the one subject to the strictest regulations and restrictions.
The NORMATIVE to which reference is made for these special road transports is Article 10 of the Italian Traffic Code.
First, two categories of Exceptional Transport should be distinguished:
1) Transport under SPECIAL EXCEPTIONAL CONDITIONS > in this case we speak of:
- Indivisible cargo of a weight and size greater than that specified in Articles 61 and 62 of the Traffic Code.
- Objects, goods and divisible structures considered exceptionally large or heavy.
- Loads that are out of gauge, i.e., protrude from the vehicle’s gauge at the front and exceed more than 3/10 of the vehicle’s length at the rear.
- Loads transported by means of construction vehicles.
- Transport carried by vehicles presenting variable height bodywork for livestock, agricultural equipment, vehicles, boats, operating and agricultural machinery.
2) Transport of EXCEPTIONAL VEHICLES > these vehicles, on the other hand, exceed the limits (“mass” and “size”) imposed by Articles 61 and 62 of the Traffic Code.
